2019 Vignoles, Turkey Run

Turkey Run Vineyard is our most eastern site, sitting highest on the hill overlooking Keuka Lake and is planted on sandy and gravelly glacial soils. The vineyard is named after our feathered friends who took the first harvest for themselves. Vignoles is an aromatic white grape developed in France that produces clean, crisp, and fuirt-forward wines. This food-friendly wine is balanced dry, with natural acidity on the finish.

Limited production: 151 cases.

2021 Skin-Fermented Vignoles

Our first vintage of Dry Amber Vignoles was in 2013. This wine is an orange wine, meaning that it is made from white grapes fermented on their skins. Even though the Vignoles grapes in the vineyard look green to yellow when ripe, after fermentation the pigments turn orange. The combination of tannins and those big Vignoles acids hits the palate full on.

At harvest, our estate-grown Vignoles is handpicked, de-stemmed, and fermented in small one-ton picking bins. The ferments were punched down by hand, pressed, and aged on fine lees for 10 months in stainless steel. This wine has been naturally cold stabilized. Vegan friendly.

Bright and aromatic with notes of chamomile, anise seed, orange marmalade and apricot. Lemony zip and fine tannin structure affords this wine a racy and complex finish.

2020 Vignoles

This Vignoles is a blend of three estate vineyards—Turkey Run, Silvernail, and The Garden. Between the three sites are a variety of soil types, from well-draining gravel to glacial till to clay to even sandy soil in portions of Turkey Run. All three vineyards are on the eastern slopes of Keuka Lake.

The fruit on the palate is bright and complex, with notes of tropical fruit, nectarine, honeysuckle, and a just a touch of melon.
