A lovely fruit-forward flavor balanced with some minerality characteristic of Finger Lakes’ Rieslings. This wine pairs beautifully with a range of foods or can be enjoyed in a glass on a summer afternoon.

Hand harvested. The 20 Rows Vineyard is our largest estate site, at just over four acres, and is located on the east side of Keuka Lake. It was planted in 2004 to our usual 5’ spacing between vines and 9’ between rows, with an additional 9 rows added in 2010. Made of mostly clay sediment with dense glacial till, the soils are moderately well-drained as they slope downwards toward the lake. It has a gentle slope with good airflow.

A beautifully mineral and fresh dry Riesling that has a deep fruit concentration with an electric acidity.

Evergreen Lek is one of our oldest Riesling sites, planted in 1999 next to a patch of evergreen trees on a rich mixture of glacial deposits and shale. Each year we blind taste our vineyard Rieslings and bottle those which exhibit the most distinctive flavors.  The site is made of soils mixed of slate and glacial deposits, perhaps bringing the characteristic minerality to this vineyard’s wines.

A wonderfully complex Dry Riesling with delicate flavors of stone fruit, mixed with strong minerality.

Falling Man vineyard is just over one acre of Riesling planted on the western slope of Keuka Lake. This vineyard gets its name from its extreme slope and tortuous climb back up the hill. Resting on excessively well-drained soils made up of outwash glacial material, the vineyard has varying and irregular topography, which can be seen very clearly when driving a tractor on the 30% slope.

20 Rows is our largest Riesling vineyard, planted on the east side of Keuka Lake on a range of glacial soils which include sandy, stony, and light clay. Each year we blind taste our vineyard Rieslings and bottle those which exhibit the most flavor on the palate. This food-friendly wine is balanced dry, with natural acidity on the finish. Drink now through 2031.

This wine is a blend of many different Riesling vineyards from two of the Finger Lakes. Most of the fruit is purchased from a nearby grower, 61% from Martini Vineyards. The remaining fruit is from our own estate vineyards, with 19% 20 Rows vineyard, 9% Lower Eastside vineyard, 8%  Goldman vineyard and 3% Ernesto Lucie vineyard. This food-friendly wine is balanced dry, with natural acidity on the finish.

The 20 Rows vineyard is our largest estate site at just over four acres. The vineyard was planted in 2004 on the site of an old Aurora vineyard. It is situated at a lower altitude than our westside Riesling plots. This warmer microclimate affords the wine a more tropical driven flavor profile. Made of mostly clay sediment with dense glacial till, the soils are moderately well-drained as they slope downwards toward the lake. It has a gentle slope with good airflow.

At harvest, our 100% estate-grown Riesling is handpicked, de-stemmed and gently pressed. We ferment in stainless steel at very low temperatures for 10-12 weeks. Aged on fine lees for 10 months and naturally cold stabilized. Vegan friendly.

Crackles with white peach, jicama, mustard flower and acacia notes. Very distinctive. The nice dry, racy finish extends nicely, too.

There are seven mature estate Riesling vineyards at KLV – Goldman, Evergreen Lek, Falling Man, Ernesto Lucie, 20 Rows, Upper & Lower Eastside. Every spring, the winemaking team blind tastes all of the Riesling lots to determine which vineyards will be bottled under their own label. Once the team determines the vineyard bottlings, trials on the remaining vineyard lots are assembled and tasted to determine the final blends for our Dry and Semi-Dry Rieslings. At harvest, our 100% estate-grown Riesling is handpicked, de-stemmed and gently pressed.

We ferment in stainless steel at very low temperatures for 10-12 weeks. Aged on fine lees for 10 months and naturally cold stabilized. Vegan friendly. Bracing, with slate, thistle, pippin apple and lime pith notes that extend through the bone dry finish.

Year after year the fruit coming from this vineyard stands out with quite a unique and distinct flavor profile. “Lek” is not a misspelled body of water but rather the Nepali word for a high ridge, an apt name for such a steep vineyard.

The 2020 growing and harvest season were truly remarkable, a standout year for the region and specifically for Keuka Lake Vineyards. Clusters of fruit arrived at the press virtually disease free and in pristine condition. The resulting wine boasts ripeness that remains bright and fresh, with notes of green apple, melon, and pear skin. A light twinge of lime pith on the finish gives this some tension, with subtle notes of jasmine on the finish.

Very tightly focused, with racy slate, pippin apple, fennel seed and acacia notes. The long, pure finish glistens nicely.
